Random quips from a random girl with too much time on her hands, a head filled with far too much imagination and only one blog outlet to throw it all into.

Bolt for Babies 2010

Again this year, Chris and I participated in the March of Dimes Bolt for Babies 5k race. Of the races we've done, this is my favorite course! I really enjoy this one, it has a little bit of everything!

We both were so happy with how we did! Chris finished 17th with a time of 24:26 (sub-8 minute miles!) and I finished 34th with a time of 27:40. i took about 2.5 mins off my time from last year so I was really pumped about that! Chris took about 4 minutes off his time!

So far, we've done races in April, May, June, and August. We have one planned for September (a 10k), the HM in October, a Turkey Trot in Nov and a race called "Jingle All the Way" in December :) Hopefully one of those months we can squeeze in 2 races since we missed on in July. We'll see! :)

an overdue entry!

I wrote this entry a while back for Kelley & Holly who completed their first triathalon & 1/2 marathon last weekend! I guess I just forgot to hit "publish" so that's why it's late..sorry ladies!

Kelley completed her first triathalon - the Maine Tri for a Cure! And while I desperately wanted to be there to cheer her on, I had to settle for watching part of it live online! I was so excited to be able to see even a small part of the day, so I felt more like I was there.

Tasha & Kel post-tri!
Way to go ladies!!!

And Holly completed her first Half Marathon....in ALASKA! She also CRUSHED her goal time by about 40 minutes! YEAHH!!!

Here's Hol and her sweet lil babe, Marin.

CONGRATULATIONS, LADIES!!!

Newlyweds Always

2nd on the 2nd!

According to the "rules," they say you are considered a newlywed until you've been married for 2 years. Somehow, that's us - today. Our wedding day was TWO years ago. Unbelievable.

They also say rules were meant to be broken and one day, we're going to be the cutest little old 95 year old couple you've ever seen - celebrating our 70th wedding anniversary!

Life's always an adventure with you and I love where this road is taking us!

One of my favorite wedding pictures... we're ready for our future together! :)
I love you and I love being Mrs. Yerxa!
8.2.08

As a gift for our 2nd anniversary we decided to get our wedding rings engraved. We each came up with what we wanted the other's to say and we didn't tell each other what we were having put in it. It turned out that we each had the same thing engraved in our rings: Better Together. This was our last dance song at our wedding. Chris ran into a minor snafu because we were told when we got there that my wedding band can only hold 10 letters...well "Better Together" is more than that! So now my engagement ring says "Better" and my wedding band says "Together" which works because my rings are better together too - just like Chris & me :)
