While talking with one of my 5th graders about "phases" (somehow it came up?) he said:
"My mom told me that my sister went through a phase where she liked to suck on lemons.
Maybe that's why she's so sour to me these days."
Aww! Good to know I can scratch figurative language off our to-do list ;)
PS - I don't recommend using Google Images for "sour puss." EVER. :-|
