Friday evening, late - after the DOL decided Chris has done his duty for the week - we headed up to Baltimore to visit Cora Beth and Curtis before they move to Roanoke next weekend!(BOOOO :( ) We had a great visit and appreciate their hospitality! :o)Friday night after we got there ( a little after 9) we ventured back to one of our favorite stomping grounds from grad school days.... a bar called "Crackpot". Yes, it's actually called that. During our 2 years there, CB and me became pretty close with the bartender and always enjoyed our time we spent there. Well, Chris and I have been living in Shirlington now for a year (exactly 1 year today, and we still love it as much as day 1, by the way!) So as we were walking in, the bartender - Kevin - was walking out and he says "Well look who's back!" I said, "Wow I didn't know if you would remember us!" ...to which he promptly responded - "fuck that!" hahaha Oh Kevin, how we've missed you...

Then on Saturday we were all woken up at 7:30 AM because they were using this giant chopping machine to gouge a tree stump out of the ground right outside their apartment!!! Who does that?! We were so mad!!! SEVEN THIRTY.... SATURDAY MORNING!!!!! Ugh! Anyway, it gave us more time to spend with CB & Curt, so it worked out. After we ate a delicious breakfast casserole and fruit salad that CB made for us (soooo good), we headed out and went to Kohl's (haha, I know - not exactly "Baltimore", but we don't have one close by here! All 4 of us were successful so it was worth it :o) Then we headed down to the Inner Harbor. We had a yummy meal at Uno's and we walked around a bit, but the harbor is having some trouble (algae bubble which is killing thousands of fish) so it was really smelly! Couldn't hang out there for too long....luckily though we didn't see any dead fish! But people were still out there paddling away in the paddle boats and taking rides on the Duck Boats!
That's the Baltimore World Trade Center on the left and the pointy building on the right is the National Aquarium

This one is my favorite view of all :o) ;o)
Then the last stop... we saved the "best" for last ;o) We did a drive-by our old apartment (though obviously not a drive-by in the traditional bmore way haha). Boy did we upgrade by moving to Shirlyville!!! It hasn't changed a bit.......
We actually lived in both of these buildings - 1137 and 1139 - because of crazy ass neighbors. We thought by moving we would improve our situation but our next neighbors were quite possibly the spawn of satan. And of course when we left, we were at the stoplight at the end of the road and a car went FLYING by, I'd say 80 mph (in a 30 zone) and about 10 seconds later, a cop flew by doing about 90! Naturally, we followed :o) By the time we caught up to them the guy was being roughly frisked and arrested. YAYYY Baltimore! Always plenty of drama to go around! Never disappoints.
So thank you guys for having us stay with you! It was wonderful to see you and we wish you a safe and smooth move down south! You always have a place to stay in DC!

I laughed so hard when I read "spawn of satan", haha.
