Christmas in Maine

Well we just returned today (wayyy too early!) from a great great great Christmas in Maine! We had an awesome time visiting with friends and family, and just enjoying the holidays.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves :)

Lobster boat at the Bush Compound
Bush compound...

Lobster Trap Christmas Tree in Cape PorpoiseKennebunkport all lit up for Santa!

Also, the nearly 2 feet of snow that slammed us about a week ago (last Friday/Saturday) is now GONE! Completely gone! Even that huge pile in Shirlington! They must've removed it; I can't imagine that would've melted that fast! I couldn't believe it when we got back. Kinda sad - I liked having it all snowy and so pretty while it lasted!! Oh well, we had a white Christmas in Maine and there's nothing better than that!

Check back soon for more photos - just waiting on some from Mom! :) (No rush, mom!!)

Historic Snowstorm: Part 2

Some pictures from today, Monday of the snow after some plowing has been done.

And we're supposed to drive thru this intersection....how??

All schools are canceled, and some canceled thru Wednesday (most are going on Christmas break on Thursday anyway).

OH and a side note, my goal of running 65 miles before going home (tomorrow!!!) is nearing completion! I have 1.4 miles left to do which I'm *hoping* to complete later today. I really don't want to get up extra early to do it in the morning!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Update: All 65 miles are complete! I had to run 7.4 miles today to do it - ahhh! Never done that before! I did 6 this morning and just got back from 1.4 which was curiously way more difficult than the 6 from this morning. But, nonetheless I am DONE! No running tomorrow before we go home! YAY! taking the 7:30 shuttle to get to the airport, flight at 10:05, landing at 11:35 and enjoying family & friends for the next 6 days....so excited!!!

There's no place like home for the holidays!!!!

A Snowstorm for the Record Books!

This weekend DC experienced the 6th largest snowstorm of ALL TIME and the largest December storm ever. Incredible! We ended up with about 17" and had one of the best weekends ever! Here's some photos for your viewing enjoyment!

the kit cats loved watching the snow!
the plows were really effective...
we got several more inches after this!someone did something stupid...

literally snowed "in" :)

in front of the library. Bye bye benches!

Hope you enjoyed the photos! We definitely enjoyed the weekend! Now off to get ready to go HOME for CHRISTMAS on TUESDAY!!!!!!!!! I'll try to get out there before we go home to take an updated pic of that snow pile in the middle of the road, it's about 2x the size of it in the picture (action shot of chris). INSANE!

Yerxa Christmas

More Yerxa decorations! I stillll have to get a pic of our lights outside - I know - but right now a string is dead so they look silly... :( I don't know what happened! Later this week we're going to get the trees in DC - promise!

Here's our broom wreath, as I call it! I put some shells on this one, just like the other wreath, and some cranberries. YUM.

It's Christmastimeeeee in the Cityyyy....

Friday night we ventured out to NJ to visit with Kim, Ken, & Zach again! And we headed up to NYC for the day on Saturday and had a great time! We went to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, had lunch at Planet Hollywood, and walked around enjoying the sights and not enjoying the crazy people! haha As expected, it was a ZOO just a couple weeks before Christmas. We even went into Toys R Us which was SO COOL and we could've really enjoyed it if it had not been filled by thousands of people beyond capacity. We almost lost our lives on the escalator, and I'm not kidding! But it was really a cool place, it even has a ferris wheel (thought i got a pic of it, but I didn't)!

Here's some pics of our awesome weekend!

Had to get the giant "Believe" on 34th street - so pretty!
Times Square-2009! I was hoping it would be replaced with 2010, but i guess we were a little too early!

we look silly!
mtv

we sat next to Titanic costumes at Planet Hollywood! Jack & Rose, aww!
Statue of Liberty made out of LEGOs at Toys R Us! Impressive.
The bare spots were not actually bare; they were pretty twinkling white lights!

Giant Christmas lights!
Giant Christmas ornaments!
Giant nutcracker! I see a pattern here... I thought everything was Bigger in
Texas... not NYC?

Black Rock... CBS Headquarters, say Hi to Ken!
LOVE sign in NYC??

The Rockefeller Center tree...
It was very pretty and really cool to be there at Christmastime, but when we got there I had no idea it was THE tree. I always thought it was up on a pedestal or something, but it wasn't. It was huge though and I'm so glad we saw it, it's just different than what you see in the movies!! And in the movies they don't show all the people who will be there with you! haha Wonder how many lights are on that thing??

Ice Skaters

The stolen pics (thanks Kim!)

FendiCartier
St.Patrick's - so pretty

ZACHARY! and his rosy red cheeks from playing hard with Uncle Chris!
he is such a ham!
Get me outta this chair Uncle Cristobal!

And I'll finish it off with a couple videos of Zach!

"Duh!"

What a cutie :)

Here are just a couple pics of some of our christmas decorations. I still haven't managed to get a good shot of our balcony lights - I'll keep working. We're also going into DC one night this week to get pics of the Capitol and maybe the White House tree too. Stay tuned!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I know we sure did and thank you Kim & Ken for having us again! Hope to see you next month!

Until next time...
